Company Profile

We currently have 20 Geotechnical and 16 deep-hole Exploration rigs in our fleet.

The origins of the “G” group of companies are as follows:
Geomechanics cc was founded in 1989 by Dave Rossiter, to service the Geotechnical drilling and testing market.

In 2000 we started a gradual process of branching out into drilling for the exploration industry and today, through a continued policy of upgrading of staff and equipment through training, replacement and maintenance, Geomechanics is one of the leaders in its field.

In 2006 we established Geomech Africa (Pty) Ltd which has a 30% BEE shareholding, which takes the form of a workers trust. As a group (Geomech Africa (Pty) Ltd and Geomechanics cc) we employ over 350 people, with access to over 45 drill rigs.

We satisfy the general SED requirements with respect to female participation (five is office based) and senior to middle management black employees.

Geomechanics has a four point plan for its future:

  • Deliver a safe and efficient service.
  • Replace old outdated equipment with new.
  • Maintain a 1st class BEE status and achieve an ISO RATING.
  • Provide a reliable service at market related prices.
